How long will it take for my furniture to arrive?

It varies by manufacturer, and even by collection from the same manufacturer.  With some companies, your furniture can arrive as quickly as two weeks.  With others, it can take up to fourteen weeks.  Once you decide which furniture you’d like to purchase, we can give you an estimate as to how long until your product will ship or be ready for pick-up.

Why does it take so long for furniture to come in?

We do not carry stock, and therefore we have to wait for it to arrive at our warehouse. Also, most manufacturers do not keep stock on most items, and therefore the furniture is made to order. We do our absolute best to get your furniture as quickly as possible.

We also have access to our manufacturer’s stock reports and can check the availability of items right in front of you. We also can place rush orders, or help you select pieces they’ve already manufactured, and attempt to get the furniture as soon as you need it

Do I need to pay in full?

No! Here at Behr’s, we only require a thirty-percent deposit to lock-in your price and order your furniture in the store.  However, you certainly do have the option to pay in full.  If you choose to leave a deposit, your remaining balance can be paid any time prior to delivery or pick-up.  On the day of delivery, we only accept payment by cash, certified check or money order.  Sorry!  All online orders however need to be paid in full when the order is placed

What if I do not want to know the sex of my baby?

Behr’s exclusive “boy/girl” ordering system allows you to pick out two sets of furniture and/or bedding, one for a boy, and one for a girl, and “place an order” for both sets.  With your approval, your OBGYN will fax a letter telling us the sex of the baby, and we will cancel whichever set you do not need and will order the correct set for your baby!  Given the sensitive nature of these orders, all Behr’s employees are given strict instructions not to tell the customer which set was ordered at any point.

Do you deliver? If so, what is the delivery charge?

Yes, we deliver and assemble all of our furniture.  For only $150, your furniture will be delivered and assembled by expertly-trained Behr’s employees, unlike other stores that use outside delivery companies.  

What is your cancellation policy?

We have two cancellation policies;

1 – Items purchased from our showroom –  For nursery furniture, with just a few exceptions, you can cancel anytime up until the day of delivery or pick-up.  Yes, you can cancel for a 100% refund up until the day you receive your furniture.  The only exception is if it is a unique finish that we do not show on our floor, it may be not subject to cancellation.  For more details, please email us or call us to speak with a Behr’s expert salesperson.   

2 – Items purchased from our online store – All online orders are special orders and are not subject to cancellation. You have 24 hours to cancel an order once it is placed. Unfortunately, after 24 hours you order is not subject to cancellation.

If I leave a deposit, can I pay my balance by credit card?

On the day of delivery, we only accept payment by cash, certified check, or money order.  We do not accept credit cards or personal checks.  If you wish to pay your remaining balance by credit card or check, you can come to the store and pay in person anytime before delivery.  We do not, under any circumstances, accept final payments by credit card over the phone.

Do you offer layaway? If so, how expensive is it?

Here are Behr’s we understand the unique nature of a nursery furniture order and the amount of time and effort that goes into getting a nursery ready for your baby.  That’s why we offer 100% free layaway for as long as you need to get ready.  As a courtesy, we will contact you when your furniture arrives, but if you are not ready for delivery or pick-up at that time, we will hold your furniture free of charge for as long you need.

How can I check the status of my order?

You can check on the status of your order by calling our Main Office at (516) 541-3600.  Our Main Office is open Monday-Friday 9 to 5, and Saturday 9-4.  If you call during those hours, a Behr’s customer service specialist will always pick-up your call and answer your question in the most helpful and expeditious manner possible.  You will never have to speak to an answering service at Behr’s.

Do you make your own furniture?

While we do not make the furniture ourselves, we only sell the safest products from the highest rated manufacturers available.  We carefully select the companies we work with to ensure that you are purchasing the best products available for your children.

Do you sell any furniture that is made in the U.S.A.?

Yes!  We proudly display over seventy-five (not a typo…75!) full room settings of American made furniture.
